The Waterlow Estate is the collective name for the Victorian blocks of flats lining Wilmot, Ainsley and Corfield Streets in Bethnal Green, London. It was constructed from 1869 to 1890 by Sir Sydney Waterlow’s Improved Industrial Dwellings Company.
Being a bit of a nerd I’ve been doing some research on the history of the buildings since moving here a few years ago. Feel free to email me (wilmotstreet@gmail.com) and send me any information or photographs you may have. I’m especially interested in hearing from people who lived here in the 70s and 80s during the renovation.
